2017 Report Card

Let us share how your donations have made a difference in small and BIG ways.

  • W.E.A.R. taught over 3,700 students how to be involved,      in the plight of homeless, rescue, spay/neuter, adoption, how to be a      better pet friend/family, dog etiquette, feral/community cats.
  • Sponsored/foster/helped dogs for vetting and medical      needs like; Sweet Pea, Mia, Texas Barbie, Windy Rain, Kate, DRock,      Whiskers, a homeless pot belly pig named Xena, a dog with no hope in Peru, Rocky - wire-haired Dachshund thrown from a truck and of course Nubby. (www.facebook.com/nubbydogrules)
  • Assisted other small nonprofits with food and supplies;      Country Love Bullies, Watching Angles Animal Rescue and of course Marshall      rural animal shelter.
  • Micro chipped dogs/cats for free to support Pet      Retention in the community on Make a Difference Day with the Never Lost      Pet Project.
  • Held our first Meet and Mingle for the community.
  • Volunteers helped animal transports.
  • Housed Hurricane Harvey refugees.

Hurricane Harvey devastated our communities and families.

In the aftermath of Harvey our volunteers assembled when the call for help came from Rockport’s House of Hope Humane Center.  With equipment that included commercial wood chippers and Bobcat excavator, water, yard tools, chainsaws, we headed to Rockport and answered their call and together with other volunteers, W.E.A.R.  led the dig out and clean-up of their Humane Center where the dogs and cats had been trapped inside for 3 days.

W.E.A.R. donated and delivered pet food, litter, beds, blankets to some of the hardest hit areas and churches in Patton Village, Cleveland, Splendora, Porter. We went to Marshall, Texas and resupplied their pet food pantry with over 10K pounds of pet food.

W.E.A.R. partnered with numerous companies lending a collective hand to Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Island and working with the 165th Airlift Wing National Guard sent over one ton of needed dog/cat pet food for the hard-hit islands.

W.E.A.R. helped assemble, gather and provide a truck load of cleaning supplies, mops, buckets, bleach, disinfectant, sponges and brooms to Houston Strong Community Relief Group in their efforts to clean individuals homes to safe living conditions.

The sheer giving power of the combined community efforts and individuals have helped accomplish so much for so many lives. You may not think your donations can do so much, but they do. It is the life that sustains us helping the helpless. Every dollar means hope to a dog/cat, every dollar means change. Together we are WARRIORS for the ones that cannot speak for themselves and to the others that strive to help.
